So you have finally decided to make that move to the Sunshine State, and if you have an idea for what you want and what you are looking for then you are well on your way. However, if you plan on living in one of the many cities in Florida, doesn’t matter which one, you need to do some research on a few factors that differ depending on which city you choose. Questions like: “What’s the crime rate like?” “What’s the average buy and sell price?” “Did the economy hit this particular city the hardest?” – these are all questions that should be addressed before you make any major decisions.

The only thing more stressful than a big move is landing up in a place that is either no better or is, in fact, worse than where you came from. You need to get a feel for the lay of the land and some of that involves speaking to a realtor and then learning for yourself. Realtors only know so much and, let us not forget, they are salespeople too.

You might also want to find out if the houses you are looking at come with any home security systems equipment installed. You might be able to make use of some of it and all it might require is a phone call to the company. Whatever you decide to do in the end, remember to do your homework before you hop on that plane.

If you are thinking of moving to the Jacksonville, Florida, area then you are in luck. This area, in the northeastern portion of the state, has the best of everything. Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida and it is the County Seat of Duval County.

Jacksonville has some great areas to buy a home. There are homes in every price range so everyone can surely find the one that is right for them.

If you desire a home by the beach then be sure to look at homes by Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Jacksonville Beach. Remember, however, that home prices will be higher the closer you are to the water. If you want to live on the water but do not have a lot of money to spend then you might want to consider living on a canal or on one of the many beautiful lakes that dot the landscape of Jacksonville. While you probably cannot have a boat if you live on a lake you can still enjoy the water view.

If you desire a more urban lifestyle then you would want to consider living in Downtown Jacksonville. Imagine being able to walk to work each day? If that is your desire then it could be possible with a city townhome or apartment.

Those with families have lots of areas to choose from. Some of the best areas to buy a home in Jacksonville for those with children include San Marco, Brooklyn, and Northside. The schools are considered good in Jacksonville so no matter where you decide to buy, you will not have any issues with public education.

Are you looking for a new place to live, yet you’re not sure about whether you’d like to rent a home or an apartment? If are debating between an apartment or a home rental, here are six reasons why you should rent a home instead of an apartment.

Bigger space: A home is usually much bigger than an apartment and if they’re close in price, you’ll be getting a lot more for your money.

Yard vs. yard: Apartments aren’t as good because there is no yard for you or your family.

Better for a family: A home is much better for a family than an apartment. Apartments are more for someone single or someone that needs very little space.

Not as noisy: Apartments can be pretty loud if you have noisy neighbors. Now, if you have a home, you don’t have to worry about neighbors being to the side, below or above you.

No worries for you: In a home, you don’t have to worry about being loud, your baby crying in the middle of the night and so on.

Comes with everything: Sometimes, you will find a home rental that has everything included. Things such as a kitchen table and furniture may come included.

As you can see, a home rental allows you to get so much more for your money.

Are you looking for a new apartment? If so, choosing the right one takes time and should never be something to rush into. To make sure you’re happy with your decision and have no regrets, here are some tips to consider when choosing an apartment.

Find the right location: Location is everything. You want to make sure you don’t have too far of a commute to work, the area is safe and it has a good school district if you have children.

Consider the size: Make sure you get an apartment that isn’t too big, yet not too small. Have a square footage in mind right from the beginning.

Consider the cost: Consider the cost for the month’s rent and be sure to compare it to others in the area.

Get the features you need: You will also want to make sure it has all the features you need. Whether you want stainless steel appliances, a balcony or all new windows, make sure you don’t settle for less than you want.

When choosing an apartment, there is a lot to look into. From finding a safe area, to having it include everything you need, you need to make sure you give yourself enough time to search.

Some people would rather live on the third floor while others may just want to live on the first floor. You will not have to worry about noise above you, if there is no other floors on top of yours. Noise level is just one of the biggest complaints when it comes to living in apartments buildings. People do not like living underneath others. Some people just love the feel of being on top, and not on the bottom. It just all depends on personal preferences. Living on the third floor is a lot different than living on the bottom. Many people do not mind walking up steps to get to their floor. Sometimes it is also less expensive to have an apartment on the third floor, because very few people like to live on the top. It depends on the type of building it is, and how comfortable you feel living in it. You can always suggest the third floor when you are moving, to see if anything is available. Most of the time they will have openings, but you can always suggest these things to the landlord. If they don’t have any openings, you can always look elsewhere.
